The Martha’s Vineyard Chamber of Commerce wants an Islander to be its next executive director.

In addition to being a Martha’s Vineyard resident, the ideal candidate needs to have “entrepreneurial spirit, exemplary leadership skills, and a passion for tourism marketing,” according to a recent announcement from the business and tourism group based in Vineyard Haven.

Current executive director Carolina Cooney, an Island native who worked at the Oak Bluffs Library before taking the chamber job in 2022, is moving off-Island later this year.

A full job description and application are posted on the chamber website mvy.com/hiring. The deadline for applications is April 14, according to the announcement.
